College of Natural Resource Management (CNRM), Madichaur, Rolpa

College of Natural Resource Management (CNRM), Madichaur, Rolpa is the one of the constituent college under Faculty of Agriculture at Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), the only state-owned technical university of Nepal. Established on 3rd February, 2020, the college currently has four batch under its undergraduate program on agriculture i.e. B.Sc. Ag with total of 150 students. The college officially started its classes from 26th February, 2020.
The college is situated at Madichaur, Rolpa Municipality, Rolpa, Province 5 of Nepal. The college represents the mid hill ecology of Nepal (995 masl) and can be accessed via road (120 km from East West Highway-Bhalubang and just 9 km from district headquarter, Libang) in all seasons. Equipped with majestic views and pleasing topography, the college sits at the lap of ancient settlement area of Rolpa. Fragrance of cultural diversity and natural beauty are among the most iconic features of this area.

Though being a youngest college under AFU, the college has excellent academic environment and well-equipped laboratory to propel the technical knowledge. The college has well spacious classrooms, modern seminar hall, equipped library, internet facility, drinking water facility, power backup, playground and acres of cultivable land to address the need of the students for quality education. College has maintained a cordial relationship with the community and students will feel at home in this environment. The college plans to conduct regular community programs like plant clinic, soil testing camps, seed testing and frequent field visits to make the students more connected to the community.

Human Resources:
The college has currently 5 permanent faculties and 8 administrative staffs along with 5 contract based supporting staffs. Faculties from the central university, other universities, other colleges are engaged on course basis. Apart from these, guest lectures from renowned experts and scholars across the globe will also be utilized to sharpen the knowledge of the students.

Infrastructure Facilities:
The college currently has one academic building (Four storied with 8 rooms), one faculty guest house (3 rooms) and a VIP guest house at Madichaur. Apart from it, lab structures like fishery pond, poultry cages, goat and sheep shed, separate laboratory for field exercises are also available. The college has almost 90 ropanis of land where the construction process for bigger infrastructures is expected to commence in near future. We currently have separate laboratory facilities as Field Lab (Agronomy and Horticulture), Soil Lab, Basic Science Lab (Crop Physiology, Biochemistry), Plant Protection Lab (Entomology and Pathology), LPM and Fisheries Lab at the college premises. Apart from all these lab, we are also planning for operation of service lab to deliver the basic soil testing and seed testing facilities to the farmers.
